A wee bit about me.

lesley trying to look 31Hi Everyone,

I started this course in 2006, completed 2 modules and took some time out(no, the course was not that stressful!) to deal with various family life events.

I  really have missed everything about the course and am so glad to be back.  I am still very much in awe of the fact that this course is truly global!

I have three grown up daughters and one, almost grown up son(never.. I hear all you mums out there say) who has just started uni, studying accountancy – more like finding his way round the union this week but hopefully he’ll settle down work hard and make lots of money and look after his mum in her dotage.

I warn you all now – I am a rugby fanatic and will bore you all with rugby related pics. My most favourite player is Gavin Hastings and I adore the All Blacks and love watching ‘ The Haka’.  I think  there’s a bit of a warrior in me.

My son  has played rugby at school and club level since he was 7yrs old. He was supposed to join The Glasgow Hawks at the begining of this season but unfortunately has been anuable to play due to a knee injury which  has put a bit of a damper on things. However he is on the mend and it looks like he will be back on the field some time in the new year – I can’t wait!

I am currently working in the support for learning department ar Reid Kerr College Glasgow.  I work with a diverse group of students who have a broad spectrum of support needs. I currently teach on our Choices and Steps2work programmes.  I am continually looking to use e learning and technology to facilitate effective learning with students and have just recently set up the steps2work social networking site – haven’t figured out the best way to use it yet, so would welcome any input and ideas. My background is in social sciences but in 2000 I decided to apply for a PgD in IT and the rest is history as they say.starbucks - simply the best

I am also a coffee addict. I spend every opportunity in coffee shops with my friends and colleagues – would even like to work in Starbucks – am told this would cure my addiction(doubt it) Starbucks rule! (or should it be rules?)

I have 2 dreams – 1, is to go to New Zealand and watch the  All Blacks play  and 2,  to buy a  house in France, Brittany, possibly, where I would like to eventually settle – no, not reitre thats only for old people, remember, I have pink spikey hair and people like that never grow old!

Last but not least I must give my dog a mention – he is, without a shadow of a doubt – my baby. He is a black labrador called Bailey and yes , I will be posting lots of pics of him. He is 8 yrs old and very handsome. lesleyss phone pics 045

Can’t think of anything else to say at the moment …apart from, I’m really looking forward to working with all of you.

Oh! one more thing; grammar and punctuation are not my thing – they are totally overrated(one word or two)except when I need to get it right for an essay – quel nightmare! Am an ideas person and yes, I know – Ideas are no good unless you can express their meaning precisely. So, I guess I’ll just have to keep practising.

the real me
