Masniza "The privileged pathology affecting all kinds of components in this universe is stress - communications breakdown" (Hogness 1983) cited in (Haraway, 2007, 44). It happens when people make assumptions and with the communication revolution - technology can sometimes contribute to this breakdown where e-mails just went astray in the cyberspace. As for the UK - postal strike at the moment :).

Masniza "Innovations in transport and communication have effectively shrunk the world" (Bell, 2001, p95). Agreed as I no longer need to schedule my time calling home like I used to do. With Skype I can call home anytime and it's cheap too. Email anytime, YM - chat instantly. Flight 12hrs instead of months on ship.

Masniza There are so many skills required when working on producing a multimedia artefact to convey the information. I wonder why the academic could not accept these skills as "academic literacies" and given value to the work given and not just the skills but time too!!!

Masniza Very disappointed with wifi access today - this is one barrier we need to overcome to fully embrace the digital culturedness. Surely organisations especially conference centre can offer free wifi without user having to ask the availability. Stopped me from twitting my day at the seminar on UK Federated Access Management!!!

Masniza Did a test run with Photostory - think it will produce what I want, maybe not as sophisticated as I would like it to but considering the time I have - it is good enough for me and the best I could do - for now. Quite a bit of thought, work and time to produce online info, wonder is it the same with written info???

Masniza Getting ready for a day out tomorrow - work related nothing fancy. To witness good practice on making e-resources more accessible to students and how best to promote them. Before that I have to battle with technology myself - all these uernames/passwords on just how to access to the train time-table. They never make it easy do they? Is info on the net easily accessible?
