Hi World! 

My name is Silvana di Gregorio and I am using this blog and lifestream as part of my course as an MSc student on E-Learning and Digital Cultures at the University of Edinburgh.

I am a sociologist (PhD – London School of Economics) and have worked as a researcher in a health services research unit, as a lecturer in a social policy department supervising practitioner-research projects, and as Director of Graduate Research Training at Cranfield School of Management.  Since 1997 I have been free-lance, training and consulting in qualitative research projects that use CAQDAS software.  My web-site is www.sdgassociates.com

I am currently exploring the use of Web 2.0 tools to support the analysis  of qualitative data, as well as developing my own on-line courses.

I am American but have lived in the UK since 1973. I am married to Mick who is a Londoner, have an 18 year old daughter, Laura, who wants to be an actress, a step-son Tom who currently lives with us with his girlfriend Jo, another step-son George who is married with two children, and a step-daughter Julia who lives with Paul and has four children and is currently expecting a fifth!

Fifth has arrived 6.20 am 24 September 2009. 9lbs 12 oz. boy called Georgie.
